Jonsered 2050 spur sprocket replacement
« on: July 19, 2021, 10:05:17 am »
A friend has a Jonsered 2050 saw on which the drive sprocket is badly worn. It's a spur sprocket. Can anyone tell me the part number I need to replace it?

I'm also wondering if it's possible to replace it with a Rim Sprocket and new clutch drum, and if so, what parts are needed for that? They are running a .325x7 sprocket. Is it necessary to replace any of the oil pump parts as well, or would the replacement rim sprocket style clutch drum (if one is available) work properly with the existing oil pump?

Thanks for any pointers anyone can provide.

Jonsered 2041 2045 2050 IPL https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/38474230/ipl-2041-2045-2050-1998-03-chain-saw-jonsered

Threads here on the 2050 of other asking over the years.   Older saw, also husky 40 45 49.

Dont know if anyone found a rim drum for them. I dont mess with these to look any further.

Thanks. I was hoping to switch them over to a rim sprocket, but I guess I'll go with the spur sprocket shown in that IPL.

Wow! nosing around for a replacement, I see that Baileys can get them (special order item) but that it costs $38. I've not found any others yet with OEM parts

I'm not sure how much to trust the aftermarket suppliers that are charging $12, but they just might chose to go that way.
