i think thats the formula 500.

Thanks for that. Its not surprising though. That 500 setup was pretty crappy without the lower handle brace. Lots of handlebars **** by the upper mount. Seems a peice of heater hose fastend with a zip tie around the lower front sping mount helped some. It also helps on others like my 7000+

Could be just that. I have been looking for info on the Formula 500 but theres not out there about them. There was also a Formula 5000 but it appears to be a rebadged Poulan clamshell.

Cale check your local shows rules on the 3ci they allow, 49cc.

I know the show in Chardon and Luther the 45mm bore of the 590 was allowed. This also lets in the NE 346xp and 5100S. Went up to 51cc max at those shows.

I ended up pulling the carb off this saw after rebuilding it several times. It just never ran the way I liked with the # 82 carb on it. I put another model number on it from a 5000 or 500.

Stock 490  with .325 chain in frozen 11.5" wood.  Video with bad carb on it.

Finally found the Jonsered small mount bar I have been looking for to replace the rollernose bar on the 490  8).  So I bought  2 of them. 16" .325 050 66dl  ;D

Here is one of my 490's. My other one has the heated handles, but needs new tubes.

Very nice Arrowhead and Welcome.  Between you and Mark it looks like you guys have took up my Partner Jonsered slack.

I've noticed several 490 590 that has the Carlton chain stickers on the covers. Whats up with that? Something the dealers put on them?

My 490 with S was suppose to been bought new by Marcel Vincent up in Canada and then was passed onto another race saw builder that didnt want to cut up the heated handle saw, then another racer got it and then to me to keep it whole as a racer I do not need anymore.

I did see another very nice heated handle 490 get molested into a 3 cube race saw build  :( .
