I believe Partner was first with heated handles, about a decade earlier - but that version was based on exaust gas, and not electrical.

I really liked the exhaust heated handles to top handle and rear handle with adjustable heat.  Like them lot better then the kind on top handle only on XPG.

??? Both handles are electrically heated on the XPG, G and WH saws (and the corresponding Stihl and Dolmars).

What varies is if they also come with heated carbs.

My OE 346xpg rear handle part must have not been working.  My heated carb part was clipped to run a 357 wabro carb.

451 was out in 1976.
First Partner with heated handle was the R18, 1969.
First Jonsered with heated handles was likly 50/51 1971.
First Husqvarna with heated I think was 240SG 1973.

Chainsaw nut!

finally dug out the 451, it needed a piston and oddly I had a NOS piston for this saw.   8)
I wanted to share some pictures of  the inside of the jug,  Nothing special but very small.  I plan on fueling it later.  I need a on off switch, a muffler at some point in time and I bet a carb kit will be needed.

any way here is a link to the pics.

David, the cylinder looks clean. Does it use points? Or electronic
