I have been running the 2260 for last couple weeks. Only complaint on it is the bucking spikes. I am used to 7900/6100/5105 dogs and after running those saws and jumping to a 2260 I am constantly cussing the lack of useful bucking spikes. that $750 price tag sitting right beside a 6100/6400 for $539 is going to be a hard sell imo. Realistically the 2260 would sit on my shelf for $699 but it is still a big jump in price

Really think a "sleeper" saw is the 2258. (essentially a 555) For under 600 dollars and also the 2166 for similar money. The Pro's will need 2172's and 2188's and they are less money then the Stihl competition. The hard part is selling off brand saws to Pro's...so part is giving them the confidence that Jonsered is "Husqvarna" enough the entire Husqvarna support & supply mechanism also applies to them if they have a "Pro Level" Jonsered such as a 2172. Tractor Supply here has the 2240,2245,2250s, 2255, and 2166 for list prices. The local Tractor Supply stocks 2166's but sell them for $700 dollars. Leaves saws like 2252 (545) and 2253 to compete with the smaller 340-350 (2240-2250s) homeowner based saws doesn't it. They haven't stocked any of the "Auto Tune" 500 series saws yet.

So Does the 2252,2253,2258,2260,2172,2188 complement your other lines?

You can still get a 2139 Jonsered.  That is a good short term plus to carrying them.  2260 is a good saw to have too, even at $699.

Also, you can't underestimate the effect that having more in stock on hand has on selling the other stuff.   The number of customers who come in to buy a Johnny and leave with something else may surprise you.

I have a Stihl MS362 that has sold A LOT of other chainsaws.

That surely would be a good selction to start with - maybe the 2166 as well... ;D

2260 is a nice saw but at this point I just don't see my customers paying the price for it. 2252,2166 are on my list and I would love to have the 2188 I just don't think it will sell since I only do a couple 7910's a year. to start with I think I am looking to fill holes in the dolmar lineup.

If you sell many 60cc saws, you may want to stock the2258.

Need some help on which saws I should order. I am going to give jonsered a try and don't know which ones I should stock under 60cc. I am not looking to stock the bigger saws at this moment as I am a bit nervous after reading other guys comments over on AS about having dolmar and jonsered and selling 20:1. I already have that scenario with echo.
I'm a Stihl and Jonsered dealer and our Stihl to Jonsered sales are 5:1, I've sold
about a few dozen Jonsered saws this year. But there has been no Jonsered dealers within 45 minutes of
us for over 20 years, so the product is completely unknown.
I've been trying to stock Jonsered saws that fill in gaps in the Stihl line price or performance wise.
Stihl went to all Easy Start rewinds on all their small saws last year so the 2238 fills the gap of a small trim saw
with a regular rewind. The bulk of my sales look similar to yours 45-60cc firewood saws, so I sell the
2255 since it's a good budget firewood saw at $399, and $70 cheaper than the Stihl MS291.
I've sold a ton of the 2166 since they are 70cc and I can sell them for the same price as the 60cc MS362.
And I sell almost no top handle Stihls but have sold a bunch of the 2139T, but they are $100 less than MS201T.
Like Walt said get the 2258 and a 2253 or 2252 and you should cover most of your bases.

filling gaps and having stuff that dolmar doesn't have is what I am after mainly but also looking at what are great values in the jonsered lineup is something else I am interested in. I took echo for the same reason and it has worked very well on the trimmer side of things but even the diehard echo guys want nothing to do with their chainsaws around here. 590 is imo the absolute best value out their right now but it took fire sale prices to convince anyone to even pick one up. 2250 and 2255 look to be pretty good value.

Any saws that I should stay away from?

We were an Echo dealer for 15 years and had the same issue sold a lot of trimmers and blowers but hardly any saws.
I'd try and stock atleast 4-5 models of saws 2166, 2258, 2255, 2250 and 2238 just to show that they have Pro, Mid range firewood and trim
saws. I've haven't had many issues with any one saw to avoid, but every single 2238 has needed the carb richend
up 1/8 turn high and low.

I am used to adjusting carbs. A saw that doesn't run right or blows up looks bad on the brand and you as the dealer. I check every piece that goes out of here even the trimmers with non adjustable carbs.
thank you guys for the help. I am going to call the rep next week and get something set up.

Hopefully you are aware that those a plastic cased clamshell designs, unlike the other 50 to 60cc saws that have been suggested here.
