2150 piston ring
« on: June 21, 2013, 08:18:58 pm »
After pulling the cylinder off of the saw, i accidentally broke my piston ring. got a new one at the local repair shop. reassemble the saw and have very little compression. saw will fall from the starter recoil under its own weight. i tore the saw back down and put the ring alone into the cylinder and there is in excess of 3mm of gap in the ring ends. is this normal or is the ring too small. thanks

FWIW you can get about any size ring you want from Northwood saw ,cheap .Takes maybe 3 days to get it .

It's pretty simple ,you order the stuff on line and then if you want phone in the credit card number if you don't trust the internet which I personally do not .

If you get Meteor or Cabers from the foreign countries across the Atlantic, it usually takes close to a month to get them.
