If the 357 is done like the 353 CAT muffler. I know how I did it.

(((((This e-tech muffler is the worst breating thing I have seen on these saws.

Has a baffle with pin size holes about 3/4 way all the way across. With a tube running from front of baffle back to rear portion and up to the exhaust oulet.

I'm thinking of trying to go in and open baffle and cut the tube without splitting muffler.

Got the muffler open up. Drill through the baffle CAT plate everywhere and pulled about 3/4 of the tube out that ran from top to baffle area. So mostly all the tube is gone but at the top where it exits now.))))))

Never did do the dual port with husky deflector yet.  Guy trying to trade me out of 353 dont like louder mufflers. So in what and see mode on 353.

OK, got the serial #.
2011 1900083

So I assume yr of manf 2011? .....

2011 week 19 - but that is of course the production dating, and not when it was sold to the original owner.

This means that the only issue you have to fix is the cat muffler - and of course you want a proper colored fuel cap as well (gray/black, not green)!  ;D

Thanks Troll.  Always nice to have a b-day to celebrate!

Thanks for the advice on muffler mods guys.  I'll take any ideas you have. I want to slap a new chain on it tomorrow & see how it does.

Well stuck a new chain on it &  played with it for just a few minutes today & it seems to run great!  Cuts nice.  Just cut a few firewood rounds of spruce about 16" to try it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a 359 has a 357 crankcase. I remember Ed putting a 359 jug on a 357 saw for KFtree and they were calling it a 358.
The 357 has a smaller crankcase and stuffers I believe.
End result was not much gain. This was about 2005 so my memory is foggy.
Excellent saw ported, I found them doggy in stock form and not very impressive, but for $200 I'd buy.

The case is the same, it is the crank stuffers on the 357xp crank that make the difference in case volume.

Yep thats the difference crank stuffers only, that I know and or aware of.  Crankcases are the same.

Stuffers are only $12 apiece new and snap in place I think.  ???

I'm not seeing the stuffers part number, so what is it?
