Where is the OP located?

I don't think we have anything to worry about here in the US. If there was any intention of killing the Jonsered brand here, then it would have been done with the termination of Tilton. There's little possibility that they would have set up this new distribution system if they didn't intend to maintain the brand in this market.

Wordlwide, it is also encouraging that Jonsered has gotten all of the new AT chassis such as the 2260 and 2253. Again, that's not a sign of a brand that's going away.
I can only report back what is discussed at manufacturer. You can think what you want about it. I heard this talk for 20 years now.
If it were up to Elux it would have been gone a long time ago.

The new series were not supposed to be red. It was a last minute call, after Tilton decided to shut down Jonsered.

Not sure of your meaning here. Are you suggesting ELUX wanted to kill it worldwide or just in the US? (Tilton was slowly killing it anyway, so they could have left it the way it was if that was their intention. LOL)

Yes, the future of Jonsered is a discussion that has been going on for a long time. But, haven't the new saws been available over there long before Husqvarna and Tilton parted ways? That would indicate that the decision to make the new models in Red has nothing to do with the Tilton situation.

But since your well connected there: We generally hear that Jonsered continues because there are some markets where it still holds a strong position. Canada is mentioned, along with "some parts of Europe", yet nobody ever says specifically where. Is this accurate? Are there areas where it is still a strong player? There are some areas in the US where it still does fairly well, such as the Northeast and Upper Midwest for sure. It certainly doesn't approach Husky numbers, but it's easily better than any brand besides Husky or Stihl.
