Germany STS competitor   from what I gather.  Dirk Braun trained as a forester. 2003 saw the former bodybuilder with the lumberjack sports and participated for the first time at the German Championships in Winterberg part. In 2005 and 2006 he was German Champion of Stihl Timber Sports Series [3] and could be against the four-time German champion Werner Brohammer prevail. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the European Championships, he was defeated narrowly defending champion Martin Komárek and won the vice European champion. The World Cup in Virginia Beach denied brown as the best Europeans.

In September 2007, Dirk Braun took in Waiblingen the first German to the European Championship title. In the Stihl Timber Sports 2007 World Cup in Oberstdorf, he represented Germany, reaching eighth place. The title of European Champion he could, 2008. St. Johann in Tirol successfully defend and won ahead of Swiss Hermann Schönbächler and the Czechs Martin Komárek.
