Points and condenser. Starts on first pull, gets warm, looses spark. Going to try condenser first, cross your fingers. The coil is available but around $90-100, ouch! Points are $32, condenser $10. When cold throws a nice blue spark, but when warm goes to yellow orange. I suppose if the points were bad it would not start and run for the short time it does.

sounds like a condenser problem. hope it is 'cause although those snappers are good, they're not good enough to throw that much moola into.
maybe try a module to replace the points stuff. they're about the same price.

on those  points  and  condensor  models  its  the  points  and the condenser  that  gives  the coil  armature  the  spark  just like  broken said  it could be  the  condensor   breaking down  the  points  and  the  points  breaking down the coil
