Mac 110 Hard to turn over
« on: July 02, 2018, 06:43:26 pm »
I have a Mac 110 that was bought new in the early 1970's. After quite a bit of use it was retired in favour of a larger Husqvarna 42CC. The little Mac has always been stored cool and dry in its case. I recently decided to clean it up and get it running again. Dismantled the saw, did a nice cleanup and reassemble. The problem I am having is the saw will turn over very easily with NO spark plug, but put a plug in and I can hardly turn it over using the pull cord. The plug is the same one that came out of the saw, a NGKBM6F. This plug does not appear to use a gasket just has the bevelled seat. I have worked on many types of small engines over the years but this problem has got me baffled. Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

The mini's are bad about having the auto portion of the oiler fail which will hydra lock the cylinder .I've tried to rebuild  the pumps with no success ..What I did was screw the pump piston down so it does not move, block off the oil  going to the pump and just use the thumb oiler .

Thanks very much for the prompt reply. I will have a look at that. I am going to have to leave the project for a few days, leaving town for a short trip.
