The only reason I can possibley think of for running reduction on a 10 series saw is possibley a lighter weight saw that could handle longer bars .

It would make sense for example how a 700 would have more RPMs than say an 80 or 87 c cc reed engine but it certainly would not have the torque of a reeder .
