Going by what is stamped on it by a saw builder of the past. She has been warmed over too.

I remember Mac being the cat's meow back in the late 50's early 60's.

There was a big Mac dealer on the other side of town and near our house on the lake, there was another in the edge of town. All long gone.

Info from owner.

Saw is at the museum till after the show. There is more to this saw than meets the eye. Will dig into it more then. 'hint' there is a center head decomp on it.

I must be blind.  Can't find any posts about that saw on CSCF.  Been looking all over the site.  Searched Fraser's (paccity) posts and didn't find anything about it.  That's his saw isn't it?

I was looking for discussion of Fraser's Long Bar Mac saw on CSCF.  Not the 895 model profile.  That saw could be an 840, 890, 895, or 895C.  They're all the same except for the engine.  Those were the only Mac gear drives in this series that had an auto oiler pump (which is visible on this saw).  An 840 has a 99cc engine.  The 890 has a 103cc engine (without comp release).  The 895 has a 103cc engine that's the same as the 890 engine except with a lever type comp release (called DSP by Mac).  The two displacements come from a slightly larger bore on the 103cc engines.  Stroke is the same.

There's no DSP sticker on the right side of the fuel tank, so I'm thinking it wasn't an 895 unless the sticker was peeled off.  Regardless...............it has a different engine swapped in now anyways.  The 895C was the last of the breed and had a button type DSP valve (like what's on Fraser's saw), but in the location where the valve is on his saw.  The 895C (and the PM105 and SP105/SP125) all have the valve higher on the head and closer to the muffler.  This saw wasn't an 895C unless another bottom handle brace/cylinder shield assembly has been swapped on (the comp release hole in the shroud is in the 'wrong' place for an 895C).

The mystery has been solved.  Kevin just advised me that he'd seen the discussion on the CSCF FaceBook page (and not the site).  I'm not on FB.  That's why I hadn't seen the discussion.

I started thinking why you cant  see the owners post. Then I remembered which CCS I was reading. Magnus linked his site the same way I have done to FB.

You caught that the saw in question has been modified in the past right?  Per owner in my earlier post.  There is more to this saw than meets the eye. Will dig into it more then. 'hint' there is a center head decomp on it.

Well if the stuffer plate stamp means anything at least part of it is a 1-92 which is also 103 cc .Being a McCulloch who knows what conglomeration of parts could be made into something .You could come up with a million things depending on how big a pile of parts you started out with .
