Mac 250 1-43 modding
« on: May 05, 2012, 12:00:17 am »
Nice looking car......oddly enough my 18yr old stepson has shown interest in my 82 yamahopper 50 moped ......runs ok but im starring at 2 mac 250's and a 1-48 that could run well.......any ideas on modding these to it or ideas on boosting the stock yama?

Well retro fitting a 5 cubic inch McCulloch engine to a mo ped won't be an easy task .Nor would it be wise to turn a kid loose with  5 plus HP engine on one that originally only produced about 1 HP . Geeze that thing  could crank on at 80 miles per hour if the gearing was right . :o

Quick correction I have 2 250's and a 1-43,not 1-48......I need to put the time into getting one running first.....all 3 have good compression&spark just haven't found the time. My start would be take a closer look at how exactly the drivetrain works&connects to the engine on the yamaha-ha....may just be a long project
