Mac 838s with stripped thread
« on: September 23, 2014, 02:41:35 am »
Have a Mac 838s AV with a stripped spark plug hole.Is it worth repairing with a helicoil if it would work or buy a cylinder which is £85 /$135. Are they a good saw worth repairing or consign it the scrap bin?

heli-coil or a time-cert. I wouldn't bother wasting any time or extra cash on that saw.
tighten the plug properly. no need for it to be animal tight.

That's what I thought aswell. Can't tighten the plug as there's no thread for the plug to screw into.cheers for the advice.

I think he meant putting in a helicoil is all the money he would invest, not just to trash it.
