mcc 1435 chain tension issue

set the chain tension on this saw dozens of times and unless the chain is super loose that it is hanging off the bar, the saw will cut for a very short time and then the motor will not run the chain because of a super tight issue,how is this saw changing the tension and getting so tight it will not run,also when set loose it will go thru a tight and then loosen up again on its own,any help would be appreciated

Check the sprocket and make sure it is not worn.   I would also pull the bar off and chain off, leave the clutch cover off and then start the saw to look and see if it is putting out bar oil.   I would check the bar groove and oil holes to make sure they are not plugged up.   It sounds like the bar and chain are getting overly hot and that the sprocket is worn and needs replaced.

thanks for the help,it has a new bar and chain,never gets a chance to get hot because it will tighten up so quick that it wont move on the bar,has been using oil and i did clean the ports,i think it may be the tensioner because the little nib that fits in the hole of the bar looks very worn,would that be a possibility,thanks for any info

Well the nuts that hold the clutch cover on will hold that bar in place even without a tensioner.   When you go to tighten the bar down pull it up tight by the chain and then tighten the nuts.   That way the bar is all the way up and is less likely to move on you when cutting.   Also check the sprocket for excessive wear.

sounds good thanks again,i always pull bar up before tightening,but i will check sprocket
