I like the idea of the bow bars for limbing but they take a lot of power away from the power head.

That design bar offers a little more flexibility than the ones that are narrow on the front.

I didn't like the bow for felling though.

I had one on a Mac 250 at one time. It was hard to hold it above your head.

I remember during the mid 50's, in the South, you would see the pulp wood trucks with the short pulp wood cross ways on the truck with two or three bow saws on the rack above the cab. There would be rosin built up on the steering wheel and lumps of it on the seat and gear shift. No doors and sometimes no fenders on the truck. The chainsaws would be black with the rosin all over them.

Wood is a different story in the South now as it is hauled three length on semi trailers and cut with a harvester . . .  After they get their 2 X 4 out of a tree, the rest is chipped for OSB board.

LG-6 70 cc gear drive  1968? A little bit related to the 10 series and used big pitch chain

A couple years later they had the Super LG-6A but it was still 70 cc

My cousin and I used a Mac 250 with a bow to cut osage orange fence posts by the thousands in the mid 60's .

Because you are basically cutting on the radius of the bar down next to the spike it flies through pulp wood sized stuff .Also because of the design of the bar if those little trees lay back into the bar it very seldom pinchs .

I've got a bow and of course several McCullochs .I need to make a top guard for it because it's kind of dangerous to run without one .

"After they get their 2 X 4 out of a tree, the rest is chipped for OSB board." I've bought lumber,2 by 4's with bark on all 4 corners so they skimp them quite a bit . You always find lousey lumber right after a big national disaster like a hurricane.
