just received the rebuilt kit, what order do the gaskets go on the carb, the diaphragm assembly looks like it has a metal wheel, does the metal wheel go towards the carb? and on the other side i have 3 items, the gasket pump, a plastic item and an item made from a flexible cloth like material

thanks dave

The one with the wheel goes on the needle and seat and spring loaded walking beam side. There a gasket that goes on first towards the carb body. The side with the wheel doesn't often matter which side it up. What matters is the tit that pushes on the lever needs to be towards the lever. Some have the tit on both sides.

On the pump side of the carb there is a filter screen that needs to be at least cleaned out if not replaced. The diaphragm you are going to use as a pump diaphragm goes towards the carburetor body and the gasket piece goes between the pump diaphragm and the cover. Notice that this is the opposite from the way you do the metering valve or regulator side. Some of the kits have either a blue or clear Mylar diaphragm or a brownish diaphragm with a Kevlar cloth molded into it. Use the one that looks most like what was originally in the carb?
