Saving - Got a question for the brain trust in the know.
Dad said he seen some clear type fluid on ground after work. My guess was hydo from a vent maybe from rearend.
So I searched on what to use and how to top off. I cant find nothing but it is a sealed unit.
I wonder too because I have 2 of these and always wondered about the hydro fluid. Any info?
Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid
Our company does not manufacture hydrostatic transmissions and they are not designed to be a consumer serviceable assembly. They are filled with the specified pump fluid to match each pump design and then sealed by each manufacturer at their factories.
Replacing hydrostatic fluid is normally not necessary, unless the drive system is in need of some other internal service or repair. Persons unfamiliar with servicing these hydrostatic systems are encouraged to use our Authorized Service Center Directory and make arrangements to have these systems professionally serviced.
Although several companies have manufactured and supplied our company with hydrostatic transmissions over the years,
Hydro-Gear® manufactures the majority of the hydrostatic transmissions used on our products. Click Here to visit the Hydro-Gear® Web site.
If you are unsure as to the manufacturer of the specific pump being serviced, it will be necessary for you to contact our Customer Support Department and our Technical Support Staff will be happy to research and identify what model and manufacturer hydrostatic drive system was originally used in a particular model and series of machine.
