I was always amazed that my two cycle Toro Snow Throwers would start on the first or second pull after a year.   They did not even have an air filter!   My four cycle Toro Snow Thrower also  starts very reliably ( but I like the two cycle ones better)..  Maybe  chainsaws are more finicky due to the small size ?

 I also use ethanol free gas in my snow thrower, and add some StaBil to the fuel container that I use,  because the gas can sit around for a few months.
