Those danged dip stick oil fills it's real easy to over fill them .Dumbest thing Briggs ever did .

Now I have no problem with the metal tube type like the 11 HP on my splitter .Nothing but problems with the plastic tube type on my mower engines .

On gummy rings you can change the oil to fresh and add a couple oz of Kroil and in enough time it will eat through the gunk .

About every two three years I drain all the oil ,put in straight kerosine and roll the engines with the plugs out because they are electric start .It helps .Of course don't start it with a crankcase full of kerosine ,put oil back in the thing first .
