Finally got around to trying out the oiler again.  Checked it without a bar and noticed that it oils the most when the adjuster is turnedcounter clockwise.

I had just cut a cookie and had brought the saw back towards my body when the next thing I know it suddenly stopped and the recoil side slammed against my leg.  It sure startled me and I found that my track pants were sucked up through the large hole that was on the bottom of the recoil side.  I had to hobble back up to the house with a saw smack against my leg.  Luckily none of the neighbours were out to witness my strange walk.

After getting the recoil cover off I found the pants were wrapped around the flywheel and a large hole in my pants.

I epoxied some wire mess across the hole  in the recoil cover and will paint it black
