Well I am thinking about doing the rebuild mentioned up top. I will need a Piston and ring for a closed port Cylinder that I have for a 5000 ,a chain brake /cover , A 5000 wrap around ( or ) D handle. to compleate the job. If some one has these parts and wants to sell them let me know what you need for money. I am not in too  big a hurry But I do want to do this .I have bought a case gasket, seals and bearings . All I need is the above. Please do not be offended if I decline your offer due to price I am just looking into it to see what it would cost me to build a 5000. thanks. Jeff

I hate to tell you. Nobody in their right mind just sales a good used or new 5000 plus piston. To hard to get hold of. Mise well just buy a running parts saw, much cheaper that way.

500 and early 5000 on left, later 5000 plus on right

Just so you know the last new oem 5000 plus piston cost me $130 to have shipped in from Canada from a shop that had closed and found in NOS.

You sold me a new one. Dont remember a used one since you said you were keeping it. ( I still needed that used one for a saw)  ;).

This was all before the last one I found up north and  west of you.

The new ones are going in racesaws. The used ones go in work saws.  ;)

Halftime so I got to be quick.  :D  LOL nope not questioning your state of mind. Sold all my stock of new ones to racers myself. Better to see them in racesaw builds then a stock saw that will get straight gassed by someone.

The other one I have torn down is the one I was going to try that 246 husky piston swap in.  Can I ask where you heard of doing that or did you just try it on your own Art.
