MOS I had to dig, but I found Art's info on the 246 in 5000 info.

Just put a 246 Husky in one. Had to open up the piston bosses. Also had a little concern over the difference in skirt length (246 being shorter) but no running problems. Good idle and great throttle response.

The 5000 has a rod that is 14.54 mm wide. The 246 piston is only 10.45mm between bosses. Had to open that area up. 246 pistons are open sided like a 254 piston with no full skirt.

026 carb has around a 2mm bigger bore, 026 carb on the 5000. Likes it big time.

246 on the right and 5000 on left. Same height and pin size. 2mm shorter skirt.
