Well the 550 didnt pass it's test session, out on loan. 2 straight days of cutting firewood and she is racing at idle.  I checked intake gaskets on both sides today, along with checking cyl (didnt pull off ) and afraid it might be crank seals (not sure yet though).

Sent the poulan 3450 out for this weekend and wanted him to tell me what he thought compared to the 550 when done. He really liked the 550 in the cut.

Where are you guys getting crank seals for these, in case I need to go down that road?  Also does this saw have a pressed on worm gear? I cant remember off hand  :-[.

Yep, found my answer to worm gear in partner 7000 plus IPL. http://s30387.gridserver.com/partsDiagrams/Partner%207000+.pdf

Well Jack's says my seals are shipped so I started taking the 550 down.

Ran into a weird problem, what looks to be a washer behind the clutch drum and between crankcase seems fused somehow to the crankshaft. I had to walk away from it after bending the washer up with pliers >:( and just put some penetrating oil on both sides to soak over night. Part number of the rascal is 505268303

Has anyone had this happen and if soaking dont work I guess I will be dremeling off.

You have to use heat and pry bars and they will come off.

The PB broke it loose enough to turn it on crank and  by golly she is out of there in 4 pieces and the one on the parts saw dont look like its going to come off to be usable.  :-X  Off to find a good one.
As I type  UPS dropped off the parts order.  ;D

Ok anyone have a used good one on hand they would sale, part number 505268303 ?

The new one is under $6 but then the shipping is the same as a big order still. I dont have a list of parts to order since I already just ordered rings and gasket kits earlier.  Maybe the parts saw one will break loose after soaking hopefully.

I've got the one I saved off of my S-55 that I will send you when my order comes in which should be in about two weeks, as it was back ordered. The one off of my P-55 I used, as it was still good. good luck.

WASHERS!!! yah I order 4 of them but there backordered too!!! I order seals for my 325, seals for Partners, and washers, three weeks ago. Seems E-lux isn't shipping anything everyone says backordered. Tried everyone no ones seems to have this common stuff, even my local dealers outta seals for my 5000/325 and there the same as husky 55 ec.
I have resorted to installing the seals deeper so they seal better, and trimming the washer so at least the ring,  seals the dust seal portion on the seal the flat washer part is not real important.

OH!!! check K650/700 cut off saw stores, I have one here and looked the same, part # match

I got a 5000 gasket kit and seals setting right here.  ;)  You need to order that type of stuff from Jack's or Ordertree or OutdoorDistributors.  JMO.

Anyone know off hand what the WOT out of wood max RPM is for 550? I try and stay rich by ear but still would like to know.

I got the washer cover thing off the parts saw 550. Bent it back to be usable and surfaced side and put the seals in good 550. Had a new clutch and drum on hand so I threw them at it too.
Was milling the 20" echo laminated bar for the 550 when the laminated on opposite side come apart grrr  >:( . So I broke out a new 20" husky large mount re-drilled oiler holes and bar adjuster holes for 550 72dl chain.

The 550 passed  all my small and big cuts and idling test (setting for 10 mins to 20mins) so it was onto the next step.

The PP365 had shown up this morning. I checked it over and compared it to the P550.

PP365 has 49mm bore 32mm stroke 60cc small  carb and small  intake. P550 44mm bore and a longer 36mm stroke 55cc big WJ carb and big plastic bolt on intake.

It was very noticeable the torque difference in the cut IMO. The 365 needs lighter hands to run it but still cuts good, just no pushing hard like you  can on 550.

Did the 5000 gasket set come with seals? I ordered one for a 325 and NO seals, the 5000 kits are all backorder too from everyone, haven't tried Jacks, others I have.
Last I knew the 550 WOT was 13,000, 9600 in cut but most do more than that. There built better than tanks but have Heavy parts inside but nothing will come apart. Some Partners have governers on carbs some don't. If you have a WJ I'd say 13,000+

Correction: earlier I stated the K series saws had same washer, Wrong!!! I checked mine different design better!!! no interchange.
