The oil seals are the same for Partner S65, 550 and F55 - P/N 505 2757-15.

Sounds right, hard to imagine they would be different... ;)

Not seals.   He said he bought this saw new 32 years ago.

Down to 120psi,  1 carb intake bolt was loose and  carb tuning is all I could find.

I noticed when I was dumping fuel on this saw today. It seemed dyed dark.  So I ask what ratio you running. He said the owners manual said 25:1.

I told him I only run 32:1 and would think he could run todays oils at  40:1 no problem.

I was digging on Acres site and it says this.  FUEL OIL RATIO:50:1 with Partner Oil /   otherwise 25:1

So did this saw back in 1980 say to use it at 50:1  and he just went with the 25:1 by misreading?

I run 40:1 in mine with no problems.
I noticed most saw manufactures these days recommend 50:1  mix when using their brand of oil and 40:1 when using other 2 stroke oils.

I had also found a crack in the carb to cylinder adapter, but I assume you did  pressure test as you mention that seals aren't the problem.

That really means 50:1 with any high quality mix oil, as you surely know!

I wouldn't hesitate to run 50:1 Aspen in it, for sure.

Btw, the S65 and F65 were rated at a little less power than the earlier 65cc Pro Partners, like the R20 and R420 - 3.8 hp vs. 4.0 hp.

I believe the difference was caused by open vs. closed porting.....

Any updates on picking a cylinder to upgrade a 550?  It seems like there are a lot of the K650/700 cylinders out there, are there any closed port ones that are good?  Also what other parts are compatible with the 550, the pioneer partner platform of saws I have no clue on.  Thanks!
