RKbark:
i have a 1989 partner 550 chainsaw.
it was my father-in-law's from new and i've been using it for about 12 years
the break band recently broke and i've been unable to source one.
the saw runs beautifully so it would be a great shame to junk it.
does anyone have an idea how i can replace this?
i'm in the uk.
many thanks

I have a extra complete clutch cover with chain brake  off a 1 owner saw. Only hting it is black cover. Guy that bought the saw wanted the yellow cover I had off my ole 550 on the S65 black saw.

Shipping cost to UK though  :o

RKbark:
many thanks for the quick reply
i have just found and bought the clutch cover with brake band for a partner 5000.
from the photos and manuals it looks identical, but i won't know until it arrives next week and i can physically compare them.
i paid $25 for it, what were you looking for price wise?

Cut4fun .:
5000 cover is different. Now I dont know about the band itself.

Looking at the 2 bands it might be close.

partner 500 IPL shows the 5000 band alittle better to compare. http://s30387.gridserver.com/partsDiagrams/Partner%20500.pdf
