I still have my first partner S-55 I bought around 1979 or 80. I use it on occasion, still runs good, it will out cut my MS-290.

First was a mini-p, (poulan?) in the mid 70s for girdling TSI work , then a 5000 around '81. After that it was husqvarna until the dolmar ps420 I just came by through GOL.

I think the first one I got that said Partner on it was one of those 1216 emab/Skil type. It aint much but I still got it.

I think the first real on was a 5000 or maybe my 7000+.

Still don't have one with Partner on it. There was a hardware store in Woodstock that sold them for a few years, but they're pretty rare around here.

But I do have a few of the Partners that were re-labled for Jonsered (490, 590, 2050), and Husky, (40, 45). The 490 and 590 get talked about a lot, but the other saws that were spawned from the P400, (I believe), are really pretty good. Maybe a little mild in performance, and a bit of a pain to work on, but they are very reliable saws. They have great anti-vibe, and if you leave the muffler alone they are relatively quiet, which is desireable at times.

Reading about how great the 5000's were picked up 2-5000+ on Ebay.  Parts saws.  Turned out both were very low hr.  #1 needed a carb. kit and a few minors and a good cleaning.  #2 needed clutch cover did a mild WP on it.  #3 was a mint 400 that needed a carb kit and an AF.  Turns out a late model Husky 40 foam AF is the same.  Looking @ it it looks lke a yellow Husky 40.  Still have em.
