Carburetor or...
« on: February 26, 2014, 05:27:44 pm »
Question:
In the thread http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/chainsaws-not-listed/norway-bamse-chainsaw/ it states that this old saw is fuel injected.
Why aren't "today's" saws fuel injected?

The Corvette was 1st fuel injected in 1957. Look how long that took to be put in everyday use for cars.

I don't think that old injection system on the saw would be very efficient. I'm sure a modem saw carburetor would be more efficient. Not sure why the designer used the injection? Perhaps an attempt to not have to deal with carburetor icing in their cold climate?
