A severe kickback is the most dangerous hazard of all for a chainsaw operator. The incident occurs in a fraction of a second and can cause injuries ranging from cuts and scrapes to amputations and death. This compelling 13-minute video opens with a re-creation of a fatal kickback incident. It then reviews important information every chainsaw operator needs to know about kickback, including how and why it happens and how to prevent it. That is a good video. I notice he was running LG chain which most professional users don't like but does reduce the risk of kick back.
That is exactly the reason I steered consumers away from top handle saws, they wanted something they could swing with one hand while piling or holding the branch with the other. No way they could control it or activate the chain brake.
