I got some poulan odd balls I want to run by you then.  The IPL shows they have to be bought with seal for about $16. Not bad.  Seals on crankbearing not the case as far as I can tell.

Stihl sometimes seems to like to bury the seals using the outer race of the bearing instead of the case for some reason. Which is one of many reasons those models seals and bearings are so danged costly.042/048 comes to mind . 30 plus for the bearing and over 20 for the seal if you can even find them at all .

I think for most pro stihl saws the clutch side bearings are going to be oe only,as most of them use the set up al talked about last post, with the seal sitting inside the bearing race. 044,046,064,066,440,460,650,660 come to mind of the top of my head.

Al is that master interchange online somewhere for download,or just a paper version?

I think somebody had the seal interchange link on this site at one time .The bearings I'm not sure of .

What you might try which works sometime is just Google the bearing number and often it will take you to it .

I will give that a try next time i am in need of some bearings. Just thought a list would save some time of trying to cross reference them when needed.

In the hunt for crank bearings for a 346. Got the 6202 skf for the flywheel side and a double sealed 6202 for the crank side part number 6202 2RSJEM.  Has any one tried these bearing with the skf seals instead of the factory bearing and seal. The seal skf uses does not look to be as nice as the oe husky one.

I would continue to use a double lip external seal in addition to the one on the bearing

I would on the flywheel side. The clutch side bearing is like a stihl 660 bearing where the seal fits in the race of the bearing. Guess my question is will the seal the skf uses hold up in a chainsaw application. Or buy the bearing and seal from husqvarna.

I should say this that the clutch side bearing measures out to same as a 6202. But the numbers on the bearing are BB1-3323.

SKF make special double lip seals for some of their bearings for this duty.
