Molded fuel line fixes
« on: April 12, 2012, 06:21:51 pm »
Show us your ways to get around having to buy the oem molded fuel lines or fuel lines you cant find anymore.

Here is one I use for the echo 452  today using a idea from the racing days  ;) (except it was the other way around)  ;). 2 different size fuel lines used and have never had a problem doing it like this.

My fix for the stihl lines so I never have to buy a stihl molded line or fuel filter again. Unless customer wants oem.

On the stihl one do you just cut the hose ends off the grommet and insert your tygon or do you have to enlarge your hole threw the grommet.

I have used the same trick on the Stihl saws, and in my experience you do not have to open up the grommet once you cut the hose off it. You do however need a little 100% pure silicone spray to get the grommet to slide easily on the tygon.

I just pull the old stihl line. Cut both ends, reuse grommet to tank and put my tygon line  through.

I don't consider that particular chainsaw to be the easiest saw in the world to work on.
