muffler installation made easy
« on: February 04, 2015, 02:17:58 pm »
Guy on my FB CSR site just posted this trick he uses at his stihl dealership.

(((((((Here's a trick to make muffler installation easy. Strips made out of plastic hold screws and gasket until screws started , then just pull them off and tighten screws.))))))

Ended up using that muffler trick shown. shield, tank guard, gasket, muffler all held together as one piece.  Being I used a index card and just pushed holes through, I did rip that into and had to dig the one side out. Plastic like shown in that thread would be the cats meow.

Pretty slick.
-Aaron

For older saws:
Tune the H side so that it 4-strokes (burbles) at WOT unloaded and just cleans up when under load.
When you lift cutting load, the saw should immediately revert to 4-stroking.  Fine tune the transition point for the wood you're cutting.
