I use silver solder for all my muffler mods. far easier to use than bronze as you don't need to excessively heat the crap out of the parts. most times it's stronger than bronze. adheres better as well.
lots of talk about 'puddle control'. it's a non-issue somebody is making out to be an issue. the silver (or in other cases bronze) will follow the crack, seam, hole, connection, etc. with no help if the area is cleaned and fluxed properly.
the only issue I have doing it this way is cost. the price of silver solder has been steadily creeping up. it's still cheaper than brazing if you factor in the cost of the oxy-acetylene gasses.

the map gas goes a long way. way farther than a small oxy-acetylene tank set up will. barely costs a 1/4 of the price to get a refill and doesn't stink up the place like acetylene does. i'll pick it first over bronze, tig/mig or the sparkle box as it's the quickest way getting that tube attached to the muffler and it's damn strong. it also won't crack like bronze or an over heated tig weld will.

I've used similar stuff to the link asled posted. I'd rather use the separate flux and wire. that way you can have the flux on there to sit and clean the area better. stick with the water based flux's. that way you can use water to thin it out if needed.

True air conditioning grade silver solder is very expensive .A lot more expensive than soft brass(easyflow ).

FWIW any hard soldering which is what brazing is is stronger  if you can use lap joints instead of butt joints .

On this kind of stuff I'm old school and in spite of the cost prefer actylene to MAPP or propane .As far as welding I'm basically self taught but at one time I held state certifications on both structural steel and pressure piping .

The gas welding I was taught by one of the best ,my father .The old boy even at 80 could  preform magic with a torch .

A couple years a couple of California clowns made some bold statement I didn't know how to gas weld so I put a picture on of a vertical up on a tin can . That's the last I heard on that subject .

The trick is the tip size and the filler .That was either an "0" tip or a "00" .The gas was so low it didn't register on the gauge and maybe 1LB pressure on the O2 .The filler was soft steel tie wire .FWIW I've got tips from 00 to number 12 .A 12 you can fuse 1/4" steel clear through .Uses up the gas though .Not used very often .

On that tin can I doubt I had much over 1/8 inch of hot blue flame ,tedious .You get a flame that low it's tough to keep in on track and not too close to get a back fire which will blow a hole .Truthfully I blew a couple holes because it took me three attempts to get it .I proved my point though .
