thanks for the tip 3000.

what is the root cause of all these clip failures? 

poor quality of clips?  not enough clip tension?  too wide of clearance of clip in groove?  wrist pin ends not machined flat?  one particular brand?

any ideas?  have not seen this, just want to know what to look for.
