3 saws in this week so far (and it's only wednesday
). all needed new plugs. they looked fine and in good shape, but once installed, no dice.
I just got done about an hour ago with a 2 year old stihl ms270. would fire up within a couple pulls and running great after one more. once warm, would shut down and only 'pop' when puled over. this is the funny part- guy had it in to the local stihl dealer and they replaced the coil through warranty, didn't bother replacing plug
guy brings it home, and within the 3-4 minutes running, it shuts down. guy calls dealer to ask what's up... long story short, he ain't going back to that dealer. he brings me in his older stuff, but I've told him if it's something covered under any warranty, bring it in to a proper dealer. he brings the saw into me this morning. says he really needs it if I can help. I go and run it and she shuts down just like he says. throw a new plug in, and she's good to go. he's as happy as a clam. makes me take a $50 for changing a plug
and says there's some good homemade beer coming my way before the weekend. I prod him a bit and tell him to buy a real saw
he laughs....
I can't seem to get bosch plugs here. but I have been having good success with the autolite brand. I think i'll be another person who avoids ngk plugs from now on. heck. even the champion plugs take a bit longer to fail.
