The Torch  spark plugs that came in Chinese model airplane engines 10 yrs ago were not very long lasting. The ceramic wasn't pure and would short out in just a few runs.

Thats the type info I was wondering about. Thanks Jim.

Talked with Autolite about their OPE plug. Made in the USA.

Autolite spark plugs are assembled in North America from USA produced components.

Ordered some. Will compare to my German and Brazil made Bosch.  Wont buy the Japan and Brazil made NGK amymore.

Autolite comes with 1 year guarantee and like the idea of supporting a USA company.

Autolite has made plugs for saws for decades. I remember seeing a Autolite ad in one of my early 1980's Chainsaw Age magazines. I think it was a red and white Remington saw sitting half buried in snow . If I find it I'll post.

Noticed new logo and looked into it. I just pulled a old logo autolite out of saw and had made in USA right on it.

2007 - In April, the Autolite® brand produced its 10 billionth spark plug.
2013 – Autolite debuts a new look and logo for the brand
2014 – Autolite launches new packaging graphics for its spark plugs

Been using them in my daily driver and race cars in past for 40 years without a failure.

Hope the OPE plugs are just as good.  Like the idea of supporting in home.

Full history.

The birth of Autolite® began in 1911 when two small companies started producing buggy lamps, and became a thriving automotive parts manufacturer by the 1930s. But its history as a spark plug manufacturer began in 1935 when Royce G. Martin, President of the Electric Autolite Company, equipped and staffed a lab to develop the first Autolite spark plug. Leading the project was Robert Twells, a ceramic engineer, who eagerly researched current patents and ceramic insulator technology. With a handful of new draftsman and staff members, it only took a few months before the Electric Autolite Company had a spark plug available for distribution. Autolite had instant success, as the brand supplied spark plugs and other ignition parts to well-known automotive leaders including Chrysler, Studebaker, Packard and Willys.

1936 - First Autolite Spark Plug produced  - Fostoria, OH.
1948 - The Autolite Resistor Spark Plug was introduced.
1956 - Autolite produces first Power Tip Spark Plug.
1961 - Autolite purchased by Ford.
1973 - Autolite purchased by Bendix.
1976 - Autolite® produced first Suppressor Spark Plug.
1983 - The Allied Corporation acquired Bendix.  In the 1983 merger, the three brand names FRAM, Bendix, and Autolite became part of Allied Automotive, one of the five business sectors of Allied Corporation.
1987 - Autolite produces first Platinum Spark Plug for Ford O.E.
1989 - Autolite produces Six Billionth Spark Plug.
2002 - Autolite produces Nine Billionth spark plug.
2003 - Autolite produces first High Thread Spark Plug for Ford Triton Engine with 3 valve design - released O.E. in 2004.
2005 - Autolite produces first XP .6mm Fine Wire Xtreme Performance® Spark Plug.
2007 - In April, the Autolite® brand produced its 10 billionth spark plug.  Autolite also introduces several new products including Coil-on-Plug Insulator Boots, Premium Small Engine spark plugs (Xtreme Sport® and Xtreme Start™ ), and two new innovative lighting products, the Flareglo Safety Lite and the Spaceglo Utility Lite.
2013 – Autolite debuts a new look and logo for the brand
2014 – Autolite launches new packaging graphics for its spark plugs

@HolmenTree

What do you think about that fine wire plug in OPE. Cost is over twice the cost.

sells pitch = Iridium and Platinum Electrodes Provide the Durability of Double Platinum Plugs with Virtually no Gap Erosion, Longer Life, and Top Fuel Efficiency Over the Life of the Plug.

Don't bother with the fine wire plugs in OPE. They were developed to prevent tip erosion in the high energy ignition systems so prevalent in modern automobile applications. Their main benefit would almost certainly never come in to play with the voltages generated by a chainsaw coil.
We just drag them down..... Until they're just like us !!!  BNL

Never tried them in my chainsaws Kevin, but worth a try.
I ran them in my YZ bike saw for over 30 years and they worked good. (Not a stubby but a regular tall plug)

I agree with keep it "Made in USA ". All my equipment like my Morbark chipper, Vermeer stump cutter, climbing gear  rigging gear and ropes are all made in the U.S. This Canadian wouldn't be in business without the help of you guys to the south.
