I vote other. There's too many gray areas like brand name of saw, age of saw, etc.  If its that newer poulan, homelite, mcculloch, etc stuff that you in see at walmart and sears. Then I'd give them a estimate with new OEM parts and tell them there better off buying a new saw. The isnt worth fixing. But its older saw brand name homelite, mcculloch, or poulan, etc. Then I'd locate parts then tell them what the estimate is and I could only used parts due to the age of the saw and I dont warranty used parts. Leave it up to them if they want to fix it or not.
Yeah I thought about that afterwords. Depends on the saw a lot of times.  If it is a 100-300 poulan or a 1000-1200 660 etc.

Just added a 4th option.  ;D
