You doing a hotsaw or stock appearing build? Funny fuel or gas racesaw?

See the wiseco stuff in background that Chris is selling in another pic.  You go with 62mm?

That 62 is a sweet looking piston. I was scared as heck that I would drop it looking it over.

Hot saw is my end goal. Pump gas for now. Hopefully it will end up piped and maybe later I'll switch to alky.

Nice looking project. What kind of reeds are you putting in it?

I was thinking you may want to loc tite studs into the crankcase and use aluminum lock nuts on top.
I was at a contest in 1989 and was helping out a competitor fix his two Marcel Vincent built 084 and 090. The 090 lean seized and the 084 was starting to. Found out the saws had long cap bolts like yours and weren't staying tight. Crankcase threads were giving out from a couple of removals. So we fabbed up 4 new studs with nuts.
Making a living with a saw since age 16.

My 4ci 262 would do that. Heck during a test run it was going lean and I caught it on video. When I checked it the cylinder had come loose like you say Willard.

After 2nd 3rd cuts you can hear where the cylinder bolts had come loose that ran through the 2 piece head.

I have some longer bolts ordered so I can use all threads in the case. I may go to studs if these give problems when I add lock washers. Hadn't planned to actually run it yet but I couldn't resist when I got the carb on. I don't know what reeds it actually has in it. Look like Boyeson that's on ebay. It's a 6 petal set up.
