Hotsaws rules
« on: October 13, 2016, 12:23:22 pm »
Hello , for those who dont know me im a canadian saw builder who've never raced in the USD but is looking forward to in a close future . I've heard a lot of thing as '' production based '' and that custom cylinder were prohebited ( événements in open production based ? ) . This rule does not make sense to me , make custom piston , kart carburetor, weld ,sleeve and epoxy the cylinder all you want but dont make it from scratch  ???

Thank you for your time !

Webster WV has that rule on production cased chainsaw hotsaw stock appearing. No  homemade cylinders.

I know of no where else that has that in the rules.

Everywhere else as long as it fits the cc max in class. 3ci, 4ci, 5ci, 6ci, SA open muffler, hotsaw open  piped common classes in alky nitro.

Almost forgot. Webster WV went to a 140cc limited now on production hotsaw too. I guess they wanted to shut out the 160cc saws being built by some. ;)

lots of places has no kart parts in the rules . Lots of things donot make any sense  . Just start winning and you will find out if your saw is legal by their rules . There are lots of rules even up here that most donot go by but the rule is there . Lots of places has only a single hole in your filter cover, the hole in your muffler can only be so big in stock appearing . Some have you can only run a saw that has its own cylinder that was made for saw, no welding on jug is allowed .

Canadian rules for hotsaw class used to be:
-140cc limit,1 cylinder,1 carb,gasoline only,does not need to be stock appearing
Also a 70cc and 100cc class- Stock appearing with a pipe. They can be very strict about stock appearing! You are allowed a 1/8" hole in the carb cover behind the carb to "squirt start" them.

You must be from out west as those rules or saw classes are not  for central and  eastern Canada , no gas rules here , no 70 cc class, no 100 cc class either . Our rules are pretty close to what the eastern USA uses
