Slow starting 3400

So i have this 3400 i have replaced the crank seals, carb kit, spark plug runs was better on a cj7 then 8 don't know why but it starts slow and then will idle but i leave it set a little on the high side or it will die i have tried to richen up the L needle but the the saw won't start at all what is the procedure to check the coil or should i be looking some where else.

Is this the one with broke ring and piston cylinder damage?

I have a used 3400 cylinder you can have (just pay shipping) also has a muffler and intake still attached. Let me check it and see how much clean up it will need (you can do that right).
If I remember it came from a non running parts saw that had piston damage too.

I pulled the muffler to get a better look at it from other side too.

IMO if you can clean that bevel on exhaust where ring etc hit you will be good to go IMO. I would just take some emery clothe and or scotch brite pad and clean cylinder up after fixing the bevel area.
