I almost forgot my over the top muffler mod.   I still have the spark arrestor in it so I do not think it will be too bad.

I've had a 3500 since 99. My son has used it since 2006 but I have to work on it. It still looks very good. I saw it last week.

He did a lot of pine cutting with it in September 2014.

It was my PRO saw for a few years. It is his favorite.

I like the 3500 365 3.7 saws too. 



How do you like that grey line? 

IF same, had a saw come in with it. The stuff seems slickery and noticed fuel filters pop off if not held on with tie strap or clamp of some type.  So keep a eye on where it mounts to carb filter etc.

I have not had any issues with the grey line, but I make sure it is pushed on the barb as far as it will go.   It was the only size I had that would fit the hole going into the fuel tank.

Well it finally stop snowing so I went out and fired up the Poulan 3500.   Checked the oiler and it is pumping oil good so on with a bar and chain to see how it does.   The saw idles, accelerates, and 4 strokes good until put into wood and then it cleans up.   
So then the seal I used for the flywheel side is good to go.    Of course I would like to run a few tanks of fuel through it and see if all is still good.

You mind showing the seal and how you did it (cut down) here?  I  got ideas in my mind but dont remember how you did this.

This is the seal that I used on the fly wheel side.   It is a SKF 5966.  The seal is to wide so I used a small cut off wheel on a dremel and cut it down to fit.

The first picture shows the 5966 sitting on top of an OEM seal so you can see the difference in the width.
The second picture show the 5966 after I cut it down to show that it is now the same width as the OEM seal.

I was thinking like removing from material from bottom of a cylinder redneck way. Would probably be to time consuming and to hard  keep close to square that way.

The reason I do not sand it down that way is, it might hit the rubber portion of the seal.   

Really it does not have to be perfectly square as long as you drive it in you do it square.
