Sweetgum is problematic in drying as it tends to warp unless weighted and restrained. Untreated wood has very little weather resistance.

Typical uses are for the inner plies of veneer plywood and railroad ties. Known for white smooth straight grain.

I didn't like stepping on the little dingle berry seeds. With shoes on they didn't hurt the bottom of your feet but may cause you to turn your ankles. As a kid, they were a good climbing tree.

I used a Dremel with a small cut off wheel and followed around the circumference of the seal.

I would have to secure the seal in a vice like clamp and hold the Dremel with both hands.

That would not be a bad idea but I held the seal with the left hand and cut it with my right.

He finally got it diagnosed. but cant remember what it is called.

Mine is Neuropathy. My my mother had it. Neighbor across the highway has it and he used to be a tool and die maker.. A guy I worked with who is 4 yrs younger than me has it so bad you can see him shaking just standing there. He does beautiful woodworking at home.

Same thing as diabetic nerve pain.
