3500 pulled 160psi and my rebuilt 365 with the old scored cylinder and new piston kit pulled 150psi

The new 3450 pulled 180psi.  :o  Think I saw 185 but went back to 180.

That is some pretty decent compression.

The old impulse line must have crracked in shipping.  It fell off at back of cylinder while starting to check oiler etc last night.

Why I always replace the impulse line and fuel lines on these when I keep them. Unless prior agreements are made with new owners doing it themselves and sold without me having to clean them up or replace lines. ;)

A couple years ago, I had two guys sending me boxloads of carcasses/parts/etc for this series.  Was gonna build a few saws from the pile, keep one or two, donate one to the park, and then sell the rest. Neither deal materialized for various reasons, so that plan's kaput.  Oh well.  I have enough projects....

Newest 3500 arrived. Type 1 with the regular full baffle muffler and the cylinder exhaust baffle.   All checks out and needs all the lines replaced as usual, impulse, tank and fuels lines.
Started, ran, idled  and oiler worked.  8)

Pics of the one that I looked over yesterday.  Bench 1

It is on hold right now too. So I wont be doing lines till I know something.  Other 3500 and 3450 on bench 2 in holding pattern too.

Was putting new fuel line, tank vent  and impulse line on 1 of the 3500 on the shelf and noticed the impulse tube in top of carb was loose. Removed carb and it easily pulled out. So just going to swap carbs for now.
Plan to finish it today and hope it warms up some since low 30's this morning.
