3700 clutch assembly
« on: May 20, 2014, 10:47:56 am »
Can anyone tell me what other saws use the same clutch assembly as my 3700. My clutch spring broke, so a complete clutch is probably my best bet. So far I 've come with this list;   3400, 4000,PP375,PP385,PP395.   Even if I had a new spring, part # 5300 24353, it looks like a **** to assemble.

Check your wanted listing, info there. Your list is correct. Not hard to replace the spring, you just need a small wood wedge.

Poulan 3800, and do not forget the Craftsman 3.4 and 3.7 saws.

Thanks fellas for the info.   Ordertree says NLA.   KilliansRedLeo also sent me the links on spring and clutch.   I forgot to add 3.4, 3.7, and 3800 to my list. My saw is actually a thin ring 3.7.  I found an NOS spring for $10.48 to my door. Just waiting for in stock confirmation.

Just to let y'all know, I got a new clutch spring for my 3.7/3700 from  Randy's Engine Repair for $10.48 to my door. $7.99 +$2.49 shipping. I've always thought his prices for most items were high, but this was well worth it.

Me too but he does sometimes carry items I do not find other places.  So I pay the price.
