The black craftsman is then like the red predator 335 with 3450 piston.    Cool

That is good info to have.  I run into those black 3.3 once in awhile.

Mike's black 3.3 has a chrome bore and a single 1.50mm thick ring. Nice looking saw so far.

Here are a few pics of the ring and piston from Mike's saw. It will be cleaned up before I put it back together.

I was figuring that 1.6mm was a typo.  Thanks for the posting pics and info  Andre.

I think I found a few more that are 54cc in this 3ci class size.  Not sure though PP336  3350 3100   anyone know?

The early 3300 (3.3 bare bore) saws had 2 thick rings. Not trying to be picky but this series of saws was designed in inches and has 1/16" (.0625" nom) rings, not 1.5mm (.060" nom) rings. You would not be happy, if you put 1.5mm rings in a piston that was machined for 1/16 rings.

It's to be ported, maybe with some machine work as well. Haven't really looked at the carb, but it looks like it will flow OK.

I was  watching the poulan pro 336 that just sold.  He had stated new rings etc installed.  I was thinking thin like 335, but IPL and part numbers come back to thick rings like in 3300 1.5mm x 2.

Guessing only maybe chrome bore with 2 rings like the IPL shows?    http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=poulan_weed_eater&mn=PP336+Gas+Saw%2C+PP336&dn=023110001
