The 336 sure looked like a 335 but I guess the piston and rings are totally different.

Yep that was what I was thinking and then he stated put in new rings. That got me thinking.

NOTICE: Air filter cover reminds me of the 365 3500.

I am surprised it did not sell for more.   $86.00 dollars seemed like a decent price to me.

I did not notice the cover was like the 365.  I guess I did not look close enough.

Maybe the recent glut of PP330 saws on ebay hurt that auction.  Must've been close to a dozen PP330s, a few 3450's, a PP380, at least one 3500, and some others I'm forgetting over the last month or two.

Per @fossil Poulan 336 54cc Bare piston, chrome bore and two thin steel rings. Comp is at 175 psi

Yes. The covers are the same as my 3600.  The case is the same as the 365 - 380 so the muffler and covers are the same.

I noticed some crap on the back cylinder wall so I pulled the cylinder to check. No scoring, couldn't feel it. Maybe carbon from sawdust ingestion. Buffed it out anyway.
Here's a pic of the piston and rings. They are 0.56mm thick.
