new bearings and seals went slick.

Have you noticed how much easier the bearings etc go in the cases on these model poulans 3000 335 305 3300 3450 330 3750 etc and slide right on the cranks compared to the huskys using same bearings?
Lot looser tolerances used on the poulans or ?

i had some huskies here i wanted to throw across the shop. stihls aswell. >:(
never been a issue with a poulan. :)
could be the looser tolerances that help them survive longer ;D i know the maitinance guys at the plant say they notice this on the pumps and motors. looser = longer.
i have no idea why husky and stihl feel the need for a bearing to be held so tightly you need to damn near split the seats pressing them into place.
heck i consider partners to be one of the top quality machined products out there (for their time and even to todays standards) and they never give me fits putting the bearings in.

I know when i took my 3750 apart to weld it the bearings came in and out without any trouble.    Now my 475 that was a tighter fit.

Nice job on the saw and I am waiting to see what difference you find with the bigger carb.    I have thought about putting a larger carb on one of my 335's.
PP 505, 475, 445.

the carb that chainsawr sent was supposed to be a 164, they ended up sending the 49, so i sent it back today and now just waiting on the right carb to come in. also waiting on the larger intake boot from 'that guy' ;) ;) tracking doesn't seem to be working. it's been sitting in cincinnati since the 29 of march.

LOL

I am fighting the urge to go pull the pp365 top, intake and carb and put the like new 60cc top, bigger intake and carb off 3750.  Just waiting to see what you found out before switching everything.

I guess I do have a 3500 I can compare to.

i'm anctious to see the results myself. :)
i guess i could see what if any difference just the carb makes, but i don't think the results would be worth it. plus i have to get a kit for the bigger carb. :)
the boot is in the postal system. should only be another week or 2 :-*

well it looks like the re-sent intake boot from 'that guy ;)' cleared the border a day or so ago. so it should be here soon. must be some letter carier walking from mississauga :)  man i hate how some stuff is stupidly slow to get here. and other stuff is here sometimes in less than a week regardless of the stop at customs. it has nothing to do with the usps side of the job. it has everything to do with how our ups handles it. :(
