Poulan 2150 Fuel/Carb Help
« on: November 17, 2015, 08:20:43 pm »
Hello all, I was given a Poulan 2150 from my neighbor as it was not running. Upon looking it was easy to see that the fuel lines were rotted out and needed replacing. I have looked over the internet at alot of fuel routing information on this model but I am having a problem understanding which line the fuel filter goes on. I also ordered a new wahlbro carburator for the saw as well which is supposed to be the newer model replacement but the fuel lines are in a slightly different place.

First question is which line is the fuel filter supposed to go on? Is it the smaller diameter line on the left side or the larger diameter on the right side? The fuel filter nipple is too big for the smaller line but seems just right for the larger line. Everything I read says the fuel filter goes on the smaller line but I am not sure how that is. The fuel line size I used was 1/16 ID x 1/8 OD and 3/32 ID x 3/16 OD. See attachments Fuel Line and Fuel Line _ Filter.

The second question is the new carb has one fuel line on the opposite side from the original one and I am not sure which line goes to it. The original has two connections on the right hand side but the new carb has one on the right and one on the left. Which lines go to them? See attachments Carb 1 and Carb 2. Here is the link to the item I bought from Amazon

Any help you can be of would be greatly appreciated.

The other thread on the fuel line routing may answer the fuel filter question but the carb routing for the new carb is still an issue.

The other carb was told too.  The 2375 had the other carb I think you are talking about.

This was the fuel line routing on this poulan 2150.  Marked them A B C and at both end areas to show routing.

The 2375 on the bench the C line was on the left side of carb.

Top right red A didnt show up to well.  :(

I have a slightly related question to ask.  As the primer bulb sort of goes "in line" with one of the lines...I was working on an older saw last night that I just wanted to get going, and after replacing the lines and going to fire it up the primer bulb **** and i was dead in the water again.  I'm curious- could the primer be eliminated and everything still work properly?  I never use the primer bulb anyway.

Drew_Uth Yes you can bypass primer and plug off lines not needed.
