Carb Adjusting Tool
« on: October 12, 2012, 06:59:54 pm »
My younger brother and I both have newer small Poulan saws. They seem to need carb adjustments more often than our other saws. He asked to borrow my Poulan carb screwdriver that I've had for a few years to adjust his saws, and I can't find it. He went to our local Stihl dealer to buy one and he couldn't sell him one, but he said he would adjust it properly for him if he brought it in. My brother doesn't want to give someone 20 bucks to do a 2 minute job that he can do himself, and I guess I don't blame him. I'm sure Baileys or someone sells them, but I wouldn't even know what the tool is called. It looks like an inside out TORX bit. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!!

If the needle valve adjusting screw looks like a reverse Torx, just use a Torx screw to adjust the needle valve?

I went to the local JUNK store - we call it the Shelby Mall - and they had a little Chinese made tool set full of all kinds of tamper proof tool bits. It was like $3.99.

You should be able to find the tool on ebay.  Just type in Poulan carb adjusting tool.
