Hey all,
I impulse bought a Craftsman 3.3 (20") chainsaw on the cheap (like $2 cheap). The owner said he thought it ran but only ran wide open with no throttle response and just wanted it gone. With the stale gas it came with it started after 4 pulls. Runs on full choke only but bogs bad. I'm just learning saw repair so this should be a great starter. I'm familiar with large engines but the finesse of the small engine repair is very intriguing!
Im certain this saw just needs a new air filter, some fresh fuel lines and filters, and a carb kit. I've started taking it apart so I can order the proper carb kit but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the dang carburetor out of the frame? Is there some secret screw I'm missing. Perhaps an IPL would help? I've even loosened the clamp on the intake boot but that didn't free it up either?
I'm not sure how the AV system works on this saw but as is it seems like the handle is connected to the engine by jell-o. I suspect some mounts are worn out.
Thanks in advance for any input!
